Thursday July 19 – Sunday July 22, 2007 – This is a warm-up for the Big Trip later this summer. Permit for 6 reserved.
- Th – drive to Tioga Lake, carcamp, dinner at Tioga Pass Resort
- Fri – drive to Pine Creek trailhead, 7400′, hike to Upper Pine Creek Lake, 10200′, ca. 5 1/2 miles (trail), camp
- Sa – hike via Pine Creek Pass, 11150′ to Royce Lakes, ca. 11700′, ca. 5 miles (trail and cross country), camp
- Su – hike out via Royce Pass, class 1, ca. 11800′, to Pine Creek trailhead, ca. 10 miles (cross country and trail), clean-up at Rock Tub, dinner at Roberto’s in Mammoth, drive home

This was a great trip, had a good time with Owen and Steve. It was my first time up this high in the Sierras so it was great to get the experience. Afterwards I even got to meet Dan!!!
